Speed the Healing of Shingles/Zoster with VALTREX

Side Effects Overview

Speed the healing of shingles with VALTREX
VALTREX is an antiherpetic medication widely used in the treatment of shingles. VALTREX is proven to speed healing, reduce the pain, and keep new blisters from forming. VALTREX Caplets work in the body to help stop the varicella-zoster virus from multiplying.

For maximum effectiveness, VALTREX should be used early in the course of shingles. Ideally, you should begin taking VALTREX within the first 2 or 3 days of the rash. The usual dose of VALTREX for herpes zoster is 1 gram (one 1-g tablet) taken 3 times a day for 7 days.

Although VALTREX may be taken with many different medications, be sure all your healthcare providers know about all prescription and over-the-counter medications and supplements you are taking. VALTREX may be taken with or without food.
